Fundraising

I think it is going to seem quiet in SPF-land to the casual observer for a while now. Over the course of the past month, we have entered a new phase of our creative process: editing. It will be rare to catch us out shooting on location from now on (or more accurately, your being called at the last minute by us begging you to come stand in as an extra). We only have 3 key scenes left to film, and none of them require much outside participation. Anyhow, don't fret ... we're all locked away in our editing studio putting together what will eventually be revisions, and we are very excited to have you see it!
On a completely different note, if there is one area of independent filmmaking that is unanimously hated by the Siege Perilous Films producers, it is fund raising. Unfortunately it is a necessary evil for us.
Up to this point, our goal for the production of revisions has been to fund the entire process ourselves -- with no product placement or major studio backing. This was a difficult decision for us to make, but I believe it was a necessary one. Siege Perilous Films' number one consideration has always been an attention to the integrity of our stories. Outside intervention into our creative process would have too great of an affect on that ideal to make the risk (and benefit) of bringing a larger entity in as a funder worthwhile to us.
This has lead us on some interesting adventures in our filmmaking. Car washes, rock and roll shows, and a lot of raiding of our personal bank accounts has gotten us to where we are today. These events have been a great deal of fun for us, as well as a great deal of work (minus the raiding of our savings of course, which isn't fun whatsoever). Now we are in need of some fresh ideas. We have a couple new plans in the mix for revisions funding, but are always open to suggestions you may have for us. Drop us a note if you have any ideas you think we could use. We'd appreciate it!
