We're Online Slackers
posted by Scott on 02.07.04

I guess we've been slacking a bit in our posting of news here, and for that I apologise. Even though you haven't heard much from us lately, it doesn't mean that we're slacking off. Quite the opposite is true.

James has been busy working with Ted editing together the first rough of revisions. They have a couple key scenes finished already, and more will quickly follow after we've had the chance to transfer the final bits of film to digital files and color correct them.

For those of you who we haven't told, the company we were originally working with to do the digital transfer (called "Telecine") was sold to a firm in Korea. That was a major problem for us, since all the equiptment was moved overseas, and we need to be present to oversee the final color settings during transfer. Recently we've hooked up with Pixel Farm to help finish this process. They're a local post-production outfit, and I'm very excited about the quality of their work. With their help, revisions will look spectacular on screen.

AT has been busy as well. He's lined up some amazing artists for the revisions soundtrack, and while we can't yet spill the beans as to whom, I can tell you that we've been talking to some very exciting people about the sound of the film. I'm sure AT will update you all soon. He's also in the early stages of planning another soundtrack concert, which we hope will happen sometime in the spring. Please drop us a line if you have any ideas. On the non-musical end of his job, AT has also been busy recording bunches of sounds we will use for the final mix of the movie's audio. I persoanlly am looking forward to helping out with this Foley work. The process is fascinating, and I'm sure we'll tell you all about it when we reach that step in production.

On the graphics end of things, I've been busy at work too. I'm in the initial planning stages of getting the title graphics ready to add into the rough cut. As soon as we have final edits of the first and last scenes of the film, I'll be knee deep in making them work visually in conjunction with the titles. I'm also working on getting some new stuff up on the revisions website. There is a ton of material up there now, and after we've worked out some server issues we'll have tons more for you to look at, read, and listen to.

Anyhow, thanks for bearing with us. The light is visible at the end of the tunnel for us, and we're excited for you to see what we've been working on for the past couple of years.
