An SPF Friday
posted by AT on 09.12.04

If you happened to be in Uptown Minneapolis last Friday night, perhaps you saw a few people running around pointing microphones at various city-type things. That was us creating Foley sounds for revisions. I've quietly been collecting sounds for our Foley library for several months now, but last Friday we started work for the film with a very specific list of audio needs. And with the warm season soon coming to an end, we're making those sounds the priority. I'm sure I'll have plenty of insights to offer on the creation of Foley if and when we do a "Producer Commentary" track on the revisions DVD.

Also last week, at our regular Tuesday meeting, we held our longest meeting in months as we watched the nearly-complete rough cut of revisions. For those of us who are not a regular part of editing, it was a chance to finally see the pace and dynamic of the film--and it was good. Early exposition is subtle and broken up well with one of the most amusing scenes we shot, and the few pieces of music that have been placed are really complementing their respective sequences. We've been working on this film for a long time, and let me tell you... seeing the rough was a motivator.

Thanks for sticking with us. We'll keep you updated.
