High Gear posted by AT on 01.19.06
Post-production work on revisions has been in major high gear for the past few weeks, and we are now literally counting down the things left to be done before the movie is "in the can," as they say.
Audio work remains the focus, as final placement of music, ADR, and Foley is about the only thing altering the edit at this point. Additionally there are some graphics to be completed, but that is just about all that is left. It will be a squeeze to get the remaining elements done within the next couple of weeks; we intend to push as hard as possible to see revisions to completion in that time, though.
Why, you ask, of all times are we now suddenly pushing so hard to finish revisions? The answer relates specifically to film festival submissions. There are several deadlines approaching for festivals we'd like to take the movie to this year; to wait a whole additional year--after the film has already been in production so long--would be disappointing. It's time for this thing to get out there!
A soundtrack update: I'm just about done with all of the original music score (there have been several late nights logged at the recording studio), and we've got most of our soundtrack contributors officially (meaning "legally") signed on now. So the slightly-overdue newsletter on each of the soundtrack artists will be out in the coming days.
Back to work!
